Common questions

How does the security deposit work?

Renters pay a deposit at booking. It's held securely and released within 24 hours of confirmed return unless a dispute is filed.

What if an item gets damaged?

Owners have 48 hours after return to file a dispute with photo evidence. Our team reviews all disputes fairly and thoroughly.

How does ID verification work?

We use Stripe Identity to verify government IDs. This keeps both renters and owners safe. Your ID documents are never stored on our servers.

What is the platform fee?

Lyndit charges renters an 18% platform fee on each rental to cover payment processing, trust and safety features, and platform maintenance. Owners receive 100% of their listed rental rate.

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes. Renters can cancel any time before pickup. Cancellations 24 or more hours before the rental start receive a full refund; less than 24 hours: 50% refund. Owners may also cancel a confirmed booking — in that case the renter receives a full refund. Once an item has been picked up, disputes replace cancellations. Full policy at /terms.
